Austria Statutory Leave Pack (Urlaubsgesetz)
Tenure-based 25 and 30-day annual leave, aliquot accrual and § 10 payout - wired straight into Odoo Time Off
What this rule pack does
The Austrian Annual Leave Act (Urlaubsgesetz, UrlG) sets a statutory minimum paid annual leave that rises with length of service. This rule pack computes that entitlement for every employee, year by year, and turns it into a ready Odoo Time Off allocation. The full legal calculation runs in a framework-free Python engine that is exercised by an extensive automated test suite, so the numbers are reproducible and auditable.
Tenure-based entitlement (§ 2 Abs 1)
30 Werktage of annual leave for less than 25 years of service, rising to 36 Werktage once the 25th year of service is completed. On a standard five-day week these convert to 25 and 30 bookable working days; the pack converts automatically for any weekly working-day distribution (4, 5 or 6 days).
Seniority & prior service (§ 2 / § 3)
Length of service is measured at the start of the working year. Creditable prior-service periods (Vordienstzeiten) recognised under § 3 UrlG can be entered per employee and are added to the seniority count, so a worker who reaches 25 qualifying years mid-career moves to the six-week entitlement automatically.
First-year aliquot accrual (§ 2 Abs 2)
In the first six months of the first working year the entitlement accrues pro-rata to completed service - one twelfth of the full year per completed month. After six months the full year is due, and from the second working year the full entitlement arises at the start of the working year.
Working year & carry-over (§ 4 Abs 5)
The working year (Arbeitsjahr) runs from the hire anniversary by default, or from the calendar year where a collective agreement provides for it (§ 2 Abs 4). Unused leave is carried forward and only time-bars two years after the end of the working year in which it arose, exactly as the two-year limitation requires.
Termination payment (§ 10)
When a leaving date is set, the pack computes the leave replacement payment (Urlaubsersatzleistung): the current working year's entitlement aliquoted to the part of the year served, less leave already taken, plus any still-valid carried-over leave. The result is the untaken leave, in working days, to be paid out.
