Tanzania Payroll for Odoo
TRA PAYE bands, NSSF pension, Skills Development Levy and Workers' Compensation Fund — computed per employee
Run statutory Tanzania Mainland payroll directly in Odoo. This module computes PAYE, NSSF, the Skills Development Levy (SDL) and the Workers' Compensation Fund (WCF) for each employee, produces a payroll register (CSV and Excel) and a statutory remittance summary split by collecting agency (TRA, NSSF, WCF). It is built on the Human Resources app and carries its own payslip and computation models, so it needs no Enterprise payroll. Compatible with Odoo 18 and Odoo 19, Community and Enterprise.
PAYE on editable TRA bands
Monthly Pay As You Earn on the progressive TRA bands (0% / 8% / 20% / 25% / 30%) under the Income Tax Act Cap.332, computed on chargeable pay (gross less the allowable NSSF deduction). The band scale is a fully editable model, so you adjust it whenever the Finance Act changes — nothing is hard-coded.
NSSF pension 10% + 10%
Mandatory NSSF pension contributions at 10% on the employee and 10% on the employer of gross monthly pay, uncapped on the Mainland. An optional contributory wage ceiling is configurable for schemes that apply one.
SDL & WCF employer levies
Skills Development Levy at 3.5% of gross emoluments and the Workers' Compensation Fund at 0.5% of gross — both employer-only costs, rolled into the employer wage-bill totals. Set the SDL rate to zero when you are below the employee-count threshold.
TRA TIN validation
The employee TIN field is validated against the official nine-digit Taxpayer Identification Number format (e.g. 123-456-789), and the NSSF membership number is length-checked, so bad references are caught before payroll is run.
Payroll runs & statutory register
Populate employees, compute every statutory deduction and net pay in one click, review run totals, and export a CSV or Excel payroll register. A statutory remittance summary wizard totals PAYE, SDL, NSSF and WCF for a run so you know exactly what to remit to TRA (PAYE and SDL by the 7th), NSSF and WCF.
BYOK-friendly: the module produces the statutory figures and register files locally; you file them through TRA, NSSF and WCF with your own credentials. No employee data leaves Odoo.
Disclosure: this module computes statutory deductions locally and produces register/summary files; it does not transmit any data to a third party. All rates, limits and bands carry the current statutory defaults (TRA 2026 PAYE bands; NSSF 10%/10%; SDL 3.5%; WCF 0.5%); confirm them against the latest official TRA, NSSF and WCF guidance before running live payroll.
